History of Rotary Club of Malvar

In November 2002, a significant event unfolded at the Aloha Restaurant when a group of individuals came together for a special meeting, driven by a shared commitment to a humanitarian cause. The purpose of this gathering was to foster unity and work towards a common goal. During the meeting, it was agreed that the election of officers would take place in the next session, alongside discussions about the venue and schedule for weekly meetings.

In the process of organizing, the presiding officer extended invitations to respected figures from other Rotary clubs. Their purpose was to share insights on the value of joining and to instill a sense of purpose and appreciation among the members, highlighting the brotherhood and fellowship that exists among business and professional individuals within the organization.

Thanks to the generous support of the Rotary Club of Tanauan, and after six months of continuous meetings and community involvement, the organization was officially chartered as the Rotary Club of Malvar. This significant milestone was achieved on May 14, 2003, and it bore the Club No. 00062112 under the esteemed RI District 3820. The charter included 22 founding members who were instrumental in its formation.

It is worth noting that the driving force behind this Rotary Club's inception became its first president. Dr. Carlito P. Reyes demonstrated an unwavering dedication to humanitarian service, which had been evident since he became a member of RC Lipa South in 1983. Subsequently, he played an integral role in establishing RC Tanauan and served as its president during the Rotary year 1984-1985. Dr. Carlito P. Reyes' commitment to service and his contributions to the community make him a source of immense pride for the people of Malvar. He remains the charter president of the Rotary Club of Malvar, a true symbol of altruism and compassion.
